Board Members Absent: Ed, Kevin,Bob

PPOA Members Present: None

Meeting was called to order by Shaun at 10:24 am

Minutes : There was a technical difficulty, so the previous month’s minutes were not posted. Motion by Shaun/Chrissy to approve the minutes. Motion passed. Nancy abstained because she was not at the last meeting.

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Rick/Shaun to approve agenda. Motion passed.

Lake Health:  Milfoil on George Lake was found at the boat landing. Nancy was at the Town of Barnes meeting on Tuesday. Chris Webb said that Chris Neff hand pulled the weeds she could. The weeds will be collapsing and dying soon. With the water levels down, hopefully volunteers working with PPOA will be able to pull the weeds next spring and control it.

We are still waiting for the lake survey and plan for Breakfast Lake.  Mary and Kerry Sorensen have been pulling weeds on Breakfast Lake per AIS directions.

Shaun has had some people questioning why only Island Lake has a boat monitor. The Clean Water Clean Boats program is only available for lakes that are designated as a recreational lake.

Common Facilites:  The Lodge and Lakeview were powerwashed and stained. The stain was purchased with donation money. The labor was donated.  Gary Meyer was the foreman. Board members Bob, Rick, Shaun and Ed along with Mike Paulson and Dennis Johnson did the work. There was a saving of approximately $5,000 in labor costs.  The lift rental was $1243. It was returned early so Rick got a $500 credit for a future rental.

There have been bears at the campground. Next year we will have a bear proof cover. Also the cover was broken and there was furniture in the dumpster.

Shaun is scheduling the mandatory Health Department inspection for the campground. Shaun will bleach the floors before the inspection.  He is also going to meet with a plumber and electrician to explore 4 more electrical pedestals and getting to water to 8 sites.

The caretaker cabin has a leak in the pressure tank that will need to be fixed.

As part of the rental program we have to have a pest control company. They spray for ants ants and spiders and also do mouse control. Last year there was a mix up in the invoices. We were mistakenly charged $700 twice. We did not catch this in a timely fashion. They were not able to credit us for a year old invoice, so we will get the credit on this years service.

The electrical plug for the stove in the wanigan has to be checked.

Devin The Tree Guy cut down the problem tree on the island and will be grinding stumps at the golf course.

Adminstrator, Website and Rentals:  The rentals are about the same as last year. There are no reservations scheduled after Labor Day at this time.

The reservations must be made 7 days ahead of time to avoid problems with the payments and cleaning of cabins. The website is not monitored at all times. These rentals are available because of volunteers. Rudeness of members should not be tolerated.

Treasure Report:  The assessments are still coming in. The building insurance was renewed for the year. The checking account balance is $19,267.35. The savings balance is $104,647.49.  Our largest expense $17,821.30 for real estate taxes. Motion by Shaun/Nancy to accept the treasures report. Motion carried.

There was discussion about possibly having to go to the PPOA members in the future or to sell properties to raise money.

Firewise: The cost for chipping this year was $6330. The next chipping piles will be mapped on September 13. PPOA will be paying for this.

Closing: There are no reservations after Labor Day at this time. The Wanigan and bathrooms on the Island will be closed on October 4

Adjournment; motion made by Shaun/Rick to adjourn. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 12:24

Respectfully submitted by Nancy Collyard
