Board Members Absent: None
PPOA Members Present: One
Meeting was called to order by Shaun Waggoner at 10 am
Minutes: A motion was made by Chrissy and seconded by Ed to accept the minutes from 9/26. Motion passed.
Approval of Agenda: A motion was made by Rick and seconded by Bob to approve the agenda. Motion passed.
Lake Health: The town should be taking the dock out from the public landing around Oct 31. The town owns the property going to the landing. Even if the access was closed, you would not guarantee that milfoil would not be spread from nearby lakes by birds. There is a standard warning sign at the landing. Shaun did talk to the DNR. The AIS committee will submit a grant to help with the milfoil on Breakfast Lake. They will want a letter of support and possibly a donation from PPOA to help with this project. Shaun will talk to Chris Webb about details. Perhaps we could ask for donations when we send out the assessments. There was discussion about how important it is that PPOA supports getting the milfoil under control.
Common Facilities: Yesterday, Kate started the cleaning; she is finishing today. If the cabins are not thoroughly clean when we close them, it takes too long in the spring. Shaun wants to make sure they are always ready for a health department inspection. There is one camper left from the electricians. He cannot move his camper because his truck doesn’t work. He will need electricity to keep his camper from freezing, but he doesn’t need the shower house or water. Rick will resubmit the invoice with the extra week. They have not paid the previous invoice yet. The plumber for opening and closing is very busy. We will try to get an appointment next year earlier. Should the opening and closing dates be set at May 1 to Oct 15? You really don’t know when we have rentals start because of the weather. Ed has been repairing windows. He will board up the screens in the Lodge.
Financial Information and Treasurer’s Report: We have not received the money from Hunt Electric yet. The 1st 3 weeks in June were cold and rainy, so rentals got off to a slow start. Hopefully we will be able to work with the health department so we can offer Cedarwood and cabins 1 & 2 next year. We did get the check from KUB. Next year all rentals must be prepaid. We are working on being able to take credit cards. Rick is working on the delinquent assessments. We got a new host for the website, so the expense was higher this year then it will be in the future. The assessments will go out in December and Rick will need help with this. Shaun was using Quick Books to create invoices. Rick will not be doing this; he works with paper. The checking account balance is $11,186.99. The savings account balance is $104,452,06. There was discussion about perhaps putting some of the savings in a CD. Shaun made a motion and Ed seconded to accept the treasurer’s report. Motion passed.
Firewise: There was no expense to PPOA this year. Firewise usually reimburses us in December.
The next meeting will be 11/20 at 10:00 AM. The location will be at Rick’s house.
Adjournment: Shaun made a motion and Kevin seconded to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 1 pm.
Respectfully submitted by Nancy Collyard
