Meeting Minutes February 22, 2022
Call to Order
A meeting of the Potawatomi Property Owners Association (PPOA) Board of Directors (BoD) was called to order by Rob Lynch at 6.01 p.m. via Zoom. In attendance were Rob Lynch, Rick Tello, Michelle Boheim, Joe Girten, and Bill Van Vlack. A quorum was present. Minutes were taken. The meeting was recorded.
Announcements
Rob posted the Resolution for rentals on the website.
Correspondence
The usual correspondence was received and filed.
Approval of the Agenda
Rob would like to move the PPOA Survey results under Old Business to the Membership Comment Period of the agenda. Michelle made a motion to approve the agenda with this change. Bill seconded. All ayes. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes from January 15, 2022
Rob requested there be an amendment to the minutes from January 15, 2022 regarding the roll call vote on the Resolution of Rental Policies. The following is from those minutes:
The Resolution states that PPOA will charge new rates and rent the following common properties during the 2022 season: the Lodge, Lakeview, and Caretaker on the Island, along with the campground. Closure of rentals will cut expenses so we can concentrate on more profitable rentals.
After discussion, Michelle made a motion to accept the Resolution as presented. Joe
seconded. Discussion was opened. Rick stated his thoughts and motioned to include the rental of the Cedarwood and Cabins 1 and 2 to the Resolution. The motion failed. There was no further discussion. Michelle conducted a roll count vote with results as follows: Van Vlack- Aye, Girten-Aye, Tello-Nay, Lynch-Aye, Boheim-Aye. The motion passed 4 to 1.
Rick made a motion to approve the minutes from January 15, 2021. Joe seconded. All ayes. Motion carried.
Membership Comment Period
No members contacted Rob for Zoom link to meeting; therefore, no members present.
PPOA Survey Results
Rob discussed the results of the online survey. We collected insights of members though there were a limited amount of surveys completed. Rob stated we will continue doing surveys and providing all PPOA information on the website in order to cut mailing and postage expenses.
Treasurer’s Report
Rick presented the Treasurer’s Report. Joe motioned to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.
Bill seconded. All ayes. Motion carried.

Rental staff and Board assignments
Reservation confirmations
2022 Rental Agreement(s)
“Self-service” check-in/check-out procedures-Rob discussed the 2022 Rental Agreement and “Self-service” check-in/check-out procedures. Rob will handle the reservations this year.
Inspections/housekeeping-April will continue housekeeping. Duties may be modified due to changes to rental process.
Campground host-ad is on website. Let Rob know if someone interested in position.
Campground maintenance-Rob identified tasks to be completed at Campground. Board also discussed the deep cleaning of buildings necessary prior to rental season.
Old Business
2022 PPOA budget adjustments-No adjustments necessary.
New Business
Sale of PPOA common property
The Board discussed the possibility of selling unused PPOA common properties as a way to deflect expenses. The majority of members completing the PPOA Survey agreed to selling PPOA common properties as a way to defray costs to the association. Joe will begin identifying said properties.
Island causeway repairs-Bill spoke with Jerome Excavating. They discussed the causeway and suggested installing dry hydrants, which are used to bring water to areas that do not have access to standard hydrants, such as on the Island. They also mentioned the possibility of grants being available. Rick will check with Ben Garrett at the DNR regarding the grant. Jerome Excavating will assess the Island causeway in the Spring. Bill will visit Bayfield County to determine causeway ownership.

Bill motioned to adjourn the meeting. Rick seconded. All ayes. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
